The Financial Analyst works closely with the senior leadership team and gathers formal and informal data to help customers and sponsors define and achieve their goals. The role will uncover several perspectives on a problem or opportunity, determine any and all drivers (and barriers) to successful performance, and makes recommendations based on what is discovered. This position will analyze and interpret data, identifying trends and seeking opportunities for improvement and enhanced reporting. The role requires a high-energy, detail-oriented professional with excellent time management, research, content management, analytical, and problem-solving, organizational, collaboration and technology skills.
This position provides an opportunity to work in a broad range of areas related to commercial real estate. The Financial Analyst will become familiar and will work with areas including: facility management, building operations, information technology, budgeting, accounting and finance. Some example areas of focus might be:
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of operational performance metrics, reports, scorecards, dashboards, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Collection, validation, and assessing integrity of information
- Use of advanced statistical concepts to determine significant sources of variability
- Defining and validating performance KPI’s as set by the functional leads
- Documenting non-existent processes for formal adoption
- Developing functional analytical talent
- Data integration from multiple systems into manageable data warehouses
Responsibilities
- Modeling, analysis and compilation of quantitative data
- Analyze performance data to forecast/trend.
- Variation analysis / Metrics analysis
- Data interpretation and predictive analysis.
- Lead responses to patterns, turn data into information, information into action and action into value for the client
- Work closely with the IT team to develop automated tools to pull and analyze portfolio data.
- Participate on problem-solving teams
Qualifications
- High level skill with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT) required.
- Experience with other data and statistical applications are a plus (PowerPivot, PowerView, Sigma Excel, SQL, VBA)
- 3-5 years relevant work experience
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in information systems, computer science, or business administration
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong statistical knowledge and analytical background
- Comfort level and/or strong interest in Six Sigma
- Attention to detail and an organized work style
- Independent, flexible and resourceful
- Previous experience in commercial real estate a plus, but not required
- Accounting experience preferred
