Position Summary:

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Director, Global IT, Capital Markets is a critical role within Americas Technology team, focusing on strategic engagement with our Capital Markets businesses, service lines, and client prospects around the world.  The candidate in the role will be tasked with creating a comprehensive and futuristic digital technology strategy in coordination with the overall global Capital Markets business strategy,  ensuring platform and technology alignment across service delivery models, and promoting technology adoption at the end-user level.
 
This position combines the knowledge and detail required to define complex technical requirements along with the ability to think strategically in developing solutions that increase the performance of our business in the future.  It is a disruptive role challenging the status quo and working with the business to digitize data, technology and business processes. Acting as liaison between Technology and the Capital Markets business and management teams, the Director Global IT – Capital Markets ensures that Technology and business strategies are aligned and that the business has the technology needed to deliver quality service to our clients throughout time.

The candidate in the role will need to build relationships with the Capital Markets business leaders around the world; form strong relationships that forge connections with all IT functional areas, including innovation, solution development, implementation, adoption, infrastructure, and support as necessary for projects; be able to influence and cross functional project teams of business and service line management teams.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Act as IT’s primary point of contact for the Global Capital Markets business lines
  • Develop and manage relationships with key technology stakeholders in the business and service lines
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of business or service line product offerings, business functions, and service delivery processes
  • Partner with business teams to help navigate IT administration and processes
  • Work with Innovation, Solution Development, Implementation, and Adoption teams to define, develop, implement, adopt, and support the technology that supports and differentiates our businesses and service lines now and in the future.

STRATEGY AND PLANNING
  • Partner with business leadership teams and CIOs  to define IT technology and service delivery platform strategy, and manage alignment with the business’ product development, marketing, sales, and service delivery strategies
  • Define and create a comprehensive disruption strategy to bring the Capital Markets businesses into the future and differentiate JLL from the competition
  • Develop and manage technology roadmap, aligned with business and Global IT strategy, for the business and service lines
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of JLL technology used by the Capital Markets businesses
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of technology and products available in the marketplace that could support and differentiate our service delivery or that could compete with or displace JLL service delivery technology
  • Manage the business and service line annual technology capital request and approval processes

BUSINESS ANAYLSIS
  • Define and document business and functional requirements as part of technology development or implementation projects
  • Create initial project proposals, project charters, and statements of work for new development and implementation work.
 
PRESENCE AND MARKETING 
  • Assist business development, marketing, and sales teams with articulating and presenting the value of JLL technology in our service offerings in the RFP and sales processes
  • Represent IT in business and service line team meetings, conferences, and industry events to communicate the scope of the JLL technology platform and the value it brings to the business and services lines and to service delivery
  • Drive internal marketing (presence) programs to increase awareness of available technology and leverage our investment in technology platforms by increasing adoption

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 
  • Experience with technology strategy, planning, management, and delivery
  • Relationship building and management skills
  • Business analysis and requirements gathering skills
  • Technology project management experience
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, able to set priorities and work autonomously
  • Customer and team focused
  • Knowledge of real estate industry or technology helpful

PRIOR EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience in leading IT and process projects for Business
  • Experience in managing simultaneous complex tasks from inception to successful completion
  • Experience in real estate Industry preferred

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
