Apprentice Engineer

Position Summary:
SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Chief Engineer, performs functions and duties that do not require the expertise of an Engineer. Supports the implementation and documentation of site safety plans and all JLL and site specific operational standards and guidelines.
Willing to learn and attend training specific to the trade of building engineer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains and cleans mechanical, electrical and shop areas.
- Coordinates parts, supplies, and equipment from local vendors and inventory.
- Performs simple procedures and tasks and other routine maintenance duties including painting, patching, light plumbing, lamp and ballast replacement, maintaining or replacing door hardware, cleaning of air vents and roof drains, pressure washing, miscellaneous handyman and carpentry work, and routine preventative maintenance to building equipment.
- Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
- As appropriate, records all pertinent data in building logbooks and makes all appropriate daily entries.
- Process administrative paperwork in accordance to departmental policies and procedures.
- Actively functions as a team member.
- Demonstrates commitment to quality of service.
- Complies with JLL and facility specific policies and procedures.
- Complies and participates with JLL safety program.
- Complies and participates in facility specific safety program.
- Maintains regular attendance in the workplace.
- Provides highest quality of service to the tenants, staff and visitors at the facility.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or state equivalent
- Experience that is commensurate with the specific facility for the position of Apprentice Engineer.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
- Certification meeting ACM awareness training requirements, as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Computer skills at a level to interact with building computerized systems in place.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT / REQUIREMENTS
- Lift over 50 lbs. and be able to work overhead from a ladder.
- Be able to work occasional overtime and serve in an on-call role.
- Occasionally work outside in inclement weather.
