Position Overview A key member of the account leadership team, the Operations Director is responsible for understanding the client’s business, account goals and integrating JLL practices to maximize facility performance. A priority for this role is the development of high performing teams to deliver services that provide safe, reliable and cost effective facilities and systems. The result is client systems that operate without unplanned interruption, are safe and result in predictable and timely delivery of client orders. The Operations Director will also drive superior performance by recruiting and retaining talent who implement Operational Excellence practices, standard work and other leading techniques to reduce errors, waste and expense while improving reliability and uptime. Direct reports include Regional Facility Managers for all sectors of the portfolio as well as Environmental, Health and Safety personnel. Responsibilities • Oversee client’s North American distribution center portfolio • Oversee the operation, staffing, performance and development of the Facilities Management staff • Ensure client satisfaction by providing facility and systems reliability and sustained uptime • Performs client relationship management to deliver value-add creative solutions to the client on a timely, cost-effective and high quality basis • Develop facility maintenance and asset management strategy that meets client’s objectives • Demonstrate leadership, responsiveness and creativity in team development and problem solving • Provide leadership for the successful implementation of special projects and initiatives • Demonstrate leadership to influence others, engage and inspire, proactive collaboration, build talent, communicate effectively and build strong relationships • Oversee the development and management of the capital and expense budgets, leading and advising the client toward the strategy • Develop and implement the annual management plan; accomplish key performance indicators as identified by client • Challenges year-over-year increases in costs; pro-actively identifies ways to drive out “process waste”; understands how the client thinks financially; can make a compelling business case and partner with the client to gain alignment and support • Develop and import best practices and innovations to implement on account as well as export to JLL • Partner with other services provider(s) to provide consistency and to ensure the use of best practices throughout the client’s portfolio • Oversee the development and timely submission of reporting appropriate for the client • Lead discussions with each direct report to establish a cascade of strong goal setting, performance reviews, career development planning and incentive/salary administration • Promote utilization of suppliers, preferred vendors/contractors and the level of spending with Minority/Women owned Business Enterprises (M/WBE) when in the client’s interest • Manage and encourage participation in the client and JLL Recognition programs • Promotes the integrated outsourcing business model to the client Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration or equivalent work experience with emphasis in manufacturing, critical environments or material handling; MBA desirable • Minimum of eight years’ experience in a relevant industry either in the corporate environment, third party service provider or as a consultant in a role with broad responsibilities • 10+ years in a manufacturing or similar environment • Experience in manufacturing environments and methods to drive process improvements and system reliability • Demonstrated strong organizational and management skills • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills • Experience in matrix management organization desirable • Strong presentation skills • Knowledge of real estate, material handling/ conveyance, accounting and building systems • Excellent communications skills • Computer proficiency • Travel up to 75% #LI |
