Sr Member of Technical Staff- EPC Policy Platform Architecture

The AT&T Labs Policy Platform Design team seeks qualified, highly motivated, technical-minded people ready to join a dynamic and experienced team.  We are responsible for the systems and applications which enable policy treatment for the national AT&T Mobility data network. We are part of 3GPP Evolved Packet Core (EPC) Network team which drives the design and architecture of the EPC platforms. Our focus is on platforms involved in Policy formulation and Policy enforcement especially deep packet inspection, traffic detection & optimization and proxy functions. This team works with cross-functional teams to understand key business and service drivers and then comes up with EPC platform solution design to support those initiatives. Our team is also responsible for evolving the AT&T EPC platforms to domain 2.0 virtualized network functions that reside over AT&T Cloud Infrastructure.

 

As a Senior Member of Technical Staff you will develop solutions to complex business and technical problems using advanced engineering and scientific principles. As a technical platform SME you will be working in cross-functional DevOps teams using Agile methodologies. You will be responsible for platform requirements, architecture, lab certification and supporting field validations for the launch of new and innovated services.

 

 

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree or higher degree such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Mathematics from an accredited university. 
  • PhD in an approved field with no minimum years of relevant experience or Masters in an approved field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors in an approved field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.   

What Makes You Stand Out:   

  • In-depth understanding of the 3GPP Evolved Packet Core architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with deploying and managing Linux based applications preferably over cloud infrastructure.
  • Good understanding of the virtualized network function deployment design in VMware and Openstack implementations.
  • Strong background in programming and scripting to lead the effort of test and deployment automation.
  • IP networking skills and hands on experience related to network integration activities.
  • Extensive experience with protocol (HTTP, TCP/IP, DIAMETER, LDAP, SD etc.) analysis (using tools like Wireshark and different OS utilities) and in depth understanding of internet call flows, client/server architectures, proxy and web server functions etc.
